Common Pipe Issues
Water pipes run between the municipal water supply and individual homes or buildings. Their placement underground puts them at risk for offsets, cracks, leaks, rust, and corrosion. Shifted or heavy soil may cause pipes to collapse, which may lead to flooding in the structure or on the property.
Tree roots grow into water pipes. Their roots obstruct the pipe and eventually cause it to fracture or offset. A high water table or soil movement from nearby construction may cause pipes to shift. The extra pressure contributes to cracks, fractures, and offsets. Hard water allows mineral buildup to obstruct water pipes. Corrosion and rust allow pinholes to develop, and this leads to low water pressure.
